FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Where will you marry people?

As I have a young family, I am currently only booking weddings in the following areas: Melbourne CBD, Melbourne Bayside and the Mornington Peninsula. If you are getting married outside of those areas, I suggest you visit https://theweddingsociety.co/couple-request/ and enquire there.

  • What legal documents will we need to produce to get married?

Under the Marriage Act 1961 (the rules celebrants need to follow) you will need to produce the following as evidence of your identity and date and place of birth. Either

    • a driver’s license + your birth certificate, or

    • an Australian or overseas passport

If you have previously been married, you will also need to produce evidence of how your last marriage was terminated. This is either a death certificate, a divorce certificate or a decree of nullity if your previous marriage was annulled.

  • When should we book our celebrant?

It’s important to book your key vendors upfront to ensure that you can secure people who fit your vibe and get what sort of wedding you are planning.

Look to lock in your celebrant as soon as you have locked in your venue and date.

  • Do you have a PA and Microphone?

Yes. I provide my Bose S1 Pro Portable Speaker and Sennheiser wireless microphone for all Ultimate Wedding Package weddings.

Together, these items provide amazing sound quality to ensure that your guests will be able to hear every word of your ceremony.

  • What happens if you are sick on our wedding day?

I have a brilliant network of celebrant friends all across Victoria. If I was unable to make your wedding for whatever reason, I would find another celebrant who could step in and deliver my ceremony

  • Do you work with LGBTIQ+ couples?

It makes me sad that this is even a question that has to be asked. My answer is a resounding YES - I’m for all couples and just want to celebrate love.

  • Who can be our witnesses?

As long as they attend the wedding in person, are over 18 and can understand English (so they can follow what is happening during the ceremony), you can choose whomever you want to be your witness!

  • Do you offer MC Services?

Sorry, I have a young family so at present I don’t offer MC services. If you do want an MC, I can always pass on recommendations of some awesome MC’s in my network.
