Say YES to Wedding Expos: your smartest move in wedding planning.

Are you currently in wedding planning mode? Overwhelmed by all the choices on offer? Here’s five great reasons why you should get out from behind your screen and attend a wedding expo:

  1. INSPIRATION - There is nothing like seeing things in the flesh & Wedding Expos are a great way to see the latest trends in the wedding industry in the one place. They are also a great way to work out what you do – and don’t – want for your wedding.

Tip: the notes section of your phone can be a great way to keep track of things you have seen or ideas you have throughout the expo.

  2. VENDOR VARIETY - You'll meet & chat with heaps of different vendors at the one event. Photographers, celebrants, cake makers, videographers, musicians & more will likely attend.

By having a variety of vendors in the one place, you can save the time & effort of researching & contacting vendors separately.

Tip: many Expos will share a list of which vendors are attending on their website. Check it out before you attend & make a list a who you definitely want to see.

  3. IRL CONVERSATIONS - Let’s be honest, it can be hard sometimes to get a sense of someone from their website.

By chatting with vendors in real life, you will easily work out if they are someone who suits the vibe you want for your wedding.

Tip: Preparation is key – think about what questions you want to ask before you attend, so that on the day you are good to go!

  4. FREEBIES, OFFERS & GIVEAWAYS - Vendors at the expo may offer free samples or giveaways and some even have special offers exclusive to those who they have met at the expo. Hello saving money or getting bonus extras!

Tip: Many vendors will ask for your email or phone number when you sign up for more information or to enter a competition. If you don’t really wish to hear from them again, best not to sign up. Alternatively, some couples set up a wedding email account (e.g. Thesmithswedding@gmail.com) specifically so that they can freely sign up to offers.

  5. FUN, FUN, FUN - Whether you attend with your partner, or you make a day of it with your besties, attending an expo can be a fun experience.

Tip: research the local area close to where the expo is being held and suss out any spots you may like to head afterwards for a drink or lunch to debrief on everything you saw.

I’ll be at the Mornington Wedding Expo at Mornington Racecourse on Sunday April 7, 2024. Entry is FREE and the expo runs from 10am-3pm. Come on down and say hi!
